Here's the exact A/B test that increased revenue by 109%:
Sometimes with all of the tasks, we need to complete each day, it can become easy to push off A/B testing until later.
But even in a well-tested account, simple tests can dramatically increase revenue.
Here is an example of one where we A/B tested the second welcome SMS message in a PostScript account.
As you can see below, the original message was a "benefits" message. We tested that against the traditional "10% off reminder" message.
The results were an incredible 109% increase in revenue, from $2025.26 per week to $4,239.56 per week.
And even more important, the UNSUBSCRIBE RATE dropped by an incredible 56%, from 3.72% to 1.65%.
Unsubscribe rate is the one metric that most email marketers seem to ignore. When you consider the current cost to acquire new leads, every single unsubscribe is extremely costly.
So this A/B test showed us that:
1. The fundamentals of marketing almost always work.
2. Even on well developed accounts, A/B testing can still produce significant, needle-moving results.
Do you have any recent A/B test home runs? Or any other tips for keeping the unsubscribe rate low? If so, please share! I'd love to implement it with my clients.
